Financing a Dutchess Day School Education


1. Our goal is to provide the finest elementary school education for all students.

2. In an effort to keep our program affordable, we set our tuitions annually, based on our expenses.

3. Books, art supplies, lab supplies, yearbooks, and daily hot lunches are included in the tuition.

4. Re-enrollment contracts are sent to current DDS families in early February. Early Notification contracts for applicants of children of DDS alumni and to siblings of past DDS students are mailed in February and newly accepted families for K-8 in March. New preschool families will receive their contracts on a rolling basis as they complete the application and screening process.

5. In order to meet our costs, we ask that half of the tuition be paid by June 15th and the other half by December 1st. We will bill approximately 15 days prior to these dates. A late fee will be assessed if payment is not received by the due date and payment must be made before classes begin in September and January. Please note that the 10% deposit will be deducted from the second payment (December).

6. An activity fee is charged annually to cover the cost of field trips and special grade level projects. This fee is added to the December billing. In addition, the Before and After School Program and the Athletic Program fees are billed each session. Included in this fee is a Parents’ Association fee which covers parent events.

7. Public school districts are obligated to provide bus service for families living within 15 miles of Dutchess Day School. Application deadlines are April 1st. Families living outside the 15 mile limit may also be able to obtain public school bus service if there are other families in the district already being bused.

Tuitions for 2010-2011 School Year range from $4,600 to $20,740.
