March 2008 -
7th and 8th graders
After two successful trips to Costa Rica in 2004 and 2006, a third group of seventh and
eighth grade students and adults will embark on another trip during spring break of
March 2008. The study tour is an elective program. Organized and led by the
conservation and education group called EcoTeach, it is coordinated by DDS science
teacher, Diane Duffus, and DDS physical education teacher, Laurie Schoch.
This is a 12-day immersion in the natural environment and culture of this beautiful

western hemisphere. Some of the highlights of the itinerary include:

- Participation in reforestation (tree-planting) work for habitat restoration of the
Great Green Macaw
