Multi-school soccer tournament raises money for a worthy cause
Friday, September 25, 2009, the Dutchess Day School hosted a 7-A-Side soccer tournament. This was not only an afternoon of great soccer but it also helped a very worthy cause: St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. This community event involved ten soccer teams from the Trinity Pawling School, the Melrose School, Steiner, the Rumsey Hall School, the Mizzentop Day School, the Kildonan School, the Woodstock Day School and two Millbrook town teams, the Cheetahs and the Strikers. The games were refereed by Millbrook School students, while the Dutchess Day Schools Parents Association held a bake sale. Event programs were sold and included raffle tickets for a gift card to the local award winning restaurant La Puerta Azul. The school raised over $800, which was donated to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
