Fall Sports
Soccer
Soccer is one of the most popular sports at the school. We have two teams: Varsity (predominantly seventh and eighth graders) and Junior Varsity (predominantly fifth and sixth graders). Both teams have averaged approximately 17 participants over the past 5 years.
Field Hockey
Field Hockey comprises students in fifth through eighth grade. Another popular sport, field hockey has averaged approximately 16 participants over the past 5 years.
Soccer and field hockey teams practice and compete on the three playing fields situated at the bottom of the school grounds. Opponents include local independent schools such as Poughkeepsie Day School, Mizzentop, Trinity Pawling, Indian Mountain, Rumsey Hall, Oakwood Friends, and Washington Montessori.
Cross-Country
Cross-Country includes runners in the fourth through eighth grades. The team practices on the school fields and competes in races against Millbrook, Maplebrook, Rumsey Hall and Indian Mountain. Each season, the coach arranges for DDS runners to compete on weekends in local public races.
