Parent Association

The parents’ association of Dutchess Day School is an organization of current parents and legal guardians that assists the head of school on nonacademic matters and seeks to establish and maintain close cooperation among parents, students, faculty, administration, staff, and trustees in promoting the welfare of the school and its students.

The activities of the parents’ association (PA) include (but are not limited to) fund-raising activities in support of the school and sponsored by the board of trustees and the development office. The organization meets between six and eight times during the academic year.

Each class at DDS has a set of class parents who are responsible for serving as liaisons in nonacademic matters between parents and teachers, greeting new families, coordinating class business and activities, and encouraging parents to attend and participate in PA meetings and activities.
